Update on the "Best of Times" Reunion Host
Walt Scott reported that 28 "OLD TIMERS" have signed up to attend the reunion at the Phi Tau house on June 15-16. It's been 3 years since the last reunion and although the attendance is down slightly, the enthusiasm is still very high. It seems that a lot of people want to see Pat and Sue McCarthy
coming in from Portland,
Bill Netzlof from Boise,
Nelson Van Fleet from Witchta Falls,
Roy Rosenberger from Appleton,
John Drake from Missouri and of course, the ever popular Admiral
Earl Riffle from Maine.

Nicknames Thank you to
Kevin Whalen for answering our call for nickname stories last month. Here is his story: "
Greg Coates '86 got the nickname 'GEEZER' on our pledge year trip to the University of Akron. We were all talking about national Parks and Greg was trying to describe and name Old Faithful the Geiser. We were laughing about not knowing what he was talking about-I think he got a little frustrated and said-come on guys you know the 'GEEZER' out in Yellowstone. What's it's name? That is how he came by his nickname."

Phi Tau Named a Chapter of Excellence Phi Kappa Tau was recently named a “2011 Chapter of Excellence” by the staff of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. This designation is given to only a select few fraternities that meet the high standards of recognition. Some of the qualifications of this award include attendance at programming events, community service and participation in Greek events and philanthropy. Hopefully Omicron Chapter can build on this honor and use it as a springboard for future success.
THON Recap 2012
Dear Alumni Brother of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity,
My name is Andrew Nass and I am currently a junior studying Biobehavioral Health at Penn State and an undergraduate member of Phi Kappa Tau. Since joining the house my freshman year, I have become very involved in the fraternity and in THON and am currently the THON chair for the house. For those who do not know, THON is yearlong, competitive fundraising effort that culminates in February with a two day no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. It is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, and the proceeds we raise benefit The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
