Omicron Association Inc. Alumni Dues Program | As the 2011-2012 academic year begins, our Omicron Chapter of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity finds itself in poised for another successful year. Due to strong recruitment efforts, we have a completely full Chapter House, and for the second year in a row we have brothers filling the Cutler/Annex property.
The Dues Program has been an integral part in support of our Chapter and providing benefits to alumni such as the Omichronicle, the Room and Ticket program, and the website, http://www.pktomicron.com.
Alumni-sponsored improvements to Chapter House over the past few years have been a key component to the successful recruitment:
• New flooring, furniture, and fixtures on the first floor provide a good first impression.
• Updates to the bathrooms, game room, and party room help with livability and comfort.
• The third floor 'Hall of Traditions' helps inspire and reinforce a sense of history and pride.
The work goes on as we try to maintain our home in a save and attractive manner, and to compete with as a housing option against new apartment buildings and dorms on campus. This year the BOD decided to pull from reserves to invest over $80,000 into our physical plant. Among other projects, we completed a top-to-bottom renovation of the 3rd floor head. We would like to make additional significant improvements over the next few years, though we will need to find the resources to make that possible. That’s where you can help.
Please take this time to review the 2010-2011 Honor Roll, and make a contribution to join the 2011-2012 honor roll. Our goal this year is $30,000. We need your help to keep our alumni communication programs running, and so that we can continue to keep Omicron a competitive option for young men to share their college experience and be a home to which we alumni can return.
Fraternally yours,
David C. Lapinski
